A major investigation by Yuval Abraham in+972 Magazine and Local Call (שיחה מקומית), in partnership with The Guardian, exposes Microsoft’s deep ties to the Israeli military, which intensified following October 7.
The investigation, based in part on documents obtained by Drop Site News, reveals that Microsoft has sold its AI and cloud storage services to dozens of Israeli military and intelligence units, including those responsible for managing databases of targets for lethal airstrikes.
Through its cloud computing platform, Azure, Microsoft has also provided the Israeli army with extensive access to OpenAI’s GPT-4 language model, the engine behind ChatGPT, which the military has used extensively since the onset of the war in Gaza.
